What clothes should we wear?
One of the most important tips I can offer you , take some time to plan and iron these well ahead of the photography session day. Think classic, timeless fashion, so your photographs always stand the test of time.
My suggestion is similar tonal range but a bit of variation so blues, greys, navy and browns work well together. Just like greens, burgundy, mustard and brown make another great colour palette.
Avoid bold patterns and large logos, plain, simple clothing that is comfortable, simple and flattering. Layers work well so vests, jackets, scarves, building pattern through texture rather than prints . Try sticking to one pattern per group and work your colours around this.
Do any of your family members wear glasses? Are they over reflective or do they go dark when outdoors?
If so it may be worth contacting your supplier and asking for a clear glass loan pair, unless you have an old pair yourself which may be more suitable.
Please look through my portfolio for ideas, or feel free to bring a selection with you.
Can I also suggest laying out all your families clothes on the bed together, well ahead of photo morning and taking a phone snap. Look at the photo, ask yourself, do they blend together nicely, without all looking too much the same, or is something too stark.
You can always give me a quick photo or phone call and we can talk through your clothing ideas if you are unsure. I really love to help ease the burden from people and take the stress away , so they come relaxed and carefree into the photo session.
I do have a wardrobe available for use, for all clients convenience, so if this interests you please message me and I can discuss these options with you.
I really hope this information takes the stress away from , what to wear for your photographs?
