The Drake Family

21/3/2020

Emily & Michael

Our big day finally arrives, after two gorgeous little distractions along the way. namely our two beautiful children who star in the big event.

27/1/2020

Fatima & Andy

Fatima & Andy celebrated their Wedding day recently at Lavender Farm with lots of  love, laughter, friendship and family.  It was a very hot summers day but everyone there shared a most magical experience together.  The children in the bridal party stole the hearts of everyone as they ran and giggled all afternoon.

Swinstead Family

Time passes too quickly, it had been 3 years since our last professional photographs with Karen.  It was so nice to get these done at home, casually and celebrating little Charlotte to our family.  So glad we got this organised and I know as time goes by and the children grow, I want a beautiful record to look back over.

Burnett Family

Picture
The night rolled around for Karen to take our family photos  at her Loveday property and it was definitely far from perfect! But somehow through the tantrums, silliness, wind, the boys almost breaking the toy car, stubbed toes, tears and fart jokes,  she has managed to truly capture our beautiful family and we could not be happier. The photos are amazing and we will treasure them forever.
I have wanted to have family photos taken for a long time but always had an excuse - we’ll wait until the kids are older, too busy, no time, etc. It wasn’t until I attended a friends funeral that I was amazed by not only how many photos she had taken, but also how many photos she was in. I’m usually the one taking photos and capturing our memories but I’m rarely in any - something I know needs to change.
I’m so glad we took this opportunity, we can’t recommend Karen highly enough. - By Sarah Burnett

Pocock Family

I have dreamt of getting my adult children together for a photos for almost 15 years. So when they gifted me the opportunity for a photoshoot with Karen as a birthday present you can imagine I was ecstatic!

One aspect we really appreciated was Karen contacting us prior to the photoshoot asking us to think about our connections to each other as a family and the ways we interacted with each other. It was as Karen was taking our photos that I realised that this unique approach helps her to understand our family relationships and enables her to capture our special family bonds.

On the day of the photoshoot Karen’s naturally friendly and personal approach immediately set us at ease with her and each other. I had been so busy with co-ordinating what everyone else in the family was going to wear, I didn’t give much thought to myself! I was so pleased that Karen tactfully and wisely suggested I change my outfit to suit my colouring and to complement what everyone else was wearing. This made me feel so much better about the ‘look’ for our whole family together, which in turn made me feel more relaxed and excited about the photoshoot. Karen's professional friendly and energetic approach during our photoshoot enabledus to all relax and have fun.  Her expertise in dealing with our young grandson (who was unwell on the day) produced amazing results in our photographs.

I highly recommend Karen to other families. Karen’s philosophy and style to ‘Capture every moment’ in our family dynamics has produced such a rich and wonderful experience for our family to treasure forever. This is a reflection of our journey in life as couple, to children and their relationships and now the beginning of grandchildren where life will never be the same!

Nitschke Family

These photographs to me are a snap shot in time, capturing our family before the teenagers sadly begin to leave home. The braces were off, timing was right and prompted by my dear friends Passing. Now was the time and I'm so thankful and amazed how beautiful they all are.  I look forward to hanging them proudly on our lounge room wall and appreciating them each and everyday - Paula Nitschke

David + Lilly

Over the last year it has been extremely hard and magical at the same time. We have grown to love and cherish every moment.
David was nearly taken to heaven, but with the amazing medical treatment he is here today. David has had 15 episodes of respiratory distress where he requires oxygen and breathing aids.
His big sister Lilly is the most beautiful and understanding child I know.
We wouldn’t be able to survive without the help and support of our family and friends who have been there for us throughout this journey.
I adore these photos of David, showing his personality and what a beautiful child he is. Without the tapes and nasal gastric tube on his face, he doesn’t appear to be the sick child. Yes he definitely struggles with swallowing food and liquids, but he is a little boy who wants to play and explore like every other child.
We are grateful for the time and effort that you have put into our collection of photos. They are amazing, thank you Chloe Jessica Hallam

Ingersons at Home in Gurra

I had been putting this off for far too long, the day finally arrived and the weather was horrendous, Karen came anyway and we decided to have a wine instead. In a twist of fate, the wind died down, we went outside barefoot and relaxed. We cuddled each other and enjoyed present time, just being in the moment at home as we are. Pepper our crazy dog even sat down and looked at the camera.
I'm now feeling very emotional and truly grateful that I finally made this a priority. The memories that have been created are truly us and I cannot wait to hang them proudly in our home. My advice to you all reading this is stop putting it off.

Sonny

So my Dad is a very handy man. He loves playing with his
his tools and drinking VB.
During my young life, our house has been pulled apart and rebuilt around me with Dad being the best at all the jobs.
They fondly call me “Terror” cause I’m into everything and often up to no good.
But I reckon, I was really good at this modelling thing, especially standing up in Dad's tool belt.
That was pretty tricky for this crawling terror. - Sonny

Fit and fabulous at 40

Fit and fabulous at 40. That was my goal.
The 12 months prior to my 40th were not exactly what I had planned but they were part of the journey that I had to travel; and our journey is what makes us who we are today.
Today I am a woman that bares the scars from the choices a younger version of myself made, I am a woman that is fiercely protective of my inner power, I’m not afraid of being vulnerable and today I hold compassion and forgiveness for myself.
I celebrate turning 40. I reflect in what I have accomplished. I am learning to love my body and am grateful for the children it has given birth to and I rejoice in the feminine energy that flows through me.
I am all things female. I am a daughter, a mother, an aunty, a partner, a friend, a mentor and a coach. But most importantly I am me. I am Leonie firstly and above all else. This isn’t selfish.; it just is.
I know myself better now than I ever have, and I love the confidence and strength that comes as we age; if only we had these qualities in our twenties!
These photos mark a milestone birthday but to me they represent 40 years of discovery. - Leonie

A beautiful strong woman

-Having spent over a decade in a controlled relationship and environment. Living each day hidden and covered, receiving put downs and constant degradation on how you look, eats away at you.
You don't feel pretty and it strips your self-esteem and that sense of who YOU are.
Escaping this situation and having the opportunity to have photos done with Karen was both exciting and scary at the same time.
I don't wear makeup or do fancy hair and I wear ordinary 'mum' clothes. Looking in the mirror after having professional hair and makeup, I went “OMG you are sexy”.
Confidence lifted, I let it all go, strutting my stuff, striking a pose.
I just had the most awesome carefree time.
I came away from the experience embracing who I am, gaining
self-confidence and igniting within myself a spark of who I once was before my darker days.

This is me, have I changed, YES but I am STRONG, I am SEXY and
I LOVE ME - Penny

Chantel & Simon

Picture

Well it's official Chantel and Simon have finally tied the knot and eloped in the Riverland. It was a beautiful surprise shared with their families and intimate few. They are now having fun sharing their news and celebrating with friends back home in Pt Augusta.  A huge congratulations to this beautiful couple and their gorgeous little girls Ivy and Brynlee, who stole the hearts of everyone.  To set the scene it was 42 degrees along Lake Bonney that afternoon, so the dip in the water afterwards was a welcomed relief.  So too was the cool change which blew through later in the afternoon.  It was very exciting to be a part of their special day and commitment to each other.

Amy + Tony

This fabulous couple shared an amazing Wedding Day, with their little boy Hunter stealing the show. Supported by great friends and their loving families these two made it all official at Trenbith House in Berri.  The bridal party were full of fun and laughter and many hilarious moments were captured.  The floral display by 'Flowers by Jodie Lee' were just amazing and formed a wonderful backdrop to their vows and ceremony.  Fun all the way  - Mr and Mrs Halupka .......

Callie + Mitch

Callie and Mitch created a magical, original and wonderful Wedding experience at the Loxton Historical Village.  Callie wore a beautiful gown that was just perfect for her and she arrived in her grandfather's old original hupmobile, surprising him.  Mitch was accompanied my his two beautiful daughters and their gorgeous smiles, all day long.  While Callie and Mitch ducked off for a few intimate blossom and river photographs the village was open for guests to explore, before a spectacular evening of fun and festivities under the marquee.

Nikki + George

Picture

This is the love story of Nikki and George on their Wedding Day.  These photographs make up a beautiful album that has been produced for the couple in a layflat modern style. George got ready in Barmera at his home before venturing to Lake Bonney for a few extra shots with the lads. Nikki had all the family and tradition at her home in Renmark. The couple married in the Greek Church Berri then travelled to Renmark  by the River for some photographs.  The Twenty Third Street Distillery made for a interesting and fun second location with the bridal party. The reception was in the Greek Hall nearby and they partied long into the night with family and friends.

Ashleigh + Callan

This is a true love story - they both grew up in the small town of Loxton,  they fell in love and moved  away to to the west seeking some adventure, This couple are best friends, they share a great sense of fun, humour  and zest for life.  Their Wedding was relaxed, casual, energetic and fun,   It brought together a mix of people from both sides of the country.  The bridal party where the funniest, most witty bunch of people and  had me laughing all afternoon, Their reception at the Renmark Club was one big party and everyone had a super time,  Great families support  this couple and it was a truly fabulous Wedding Day all round.

Eden Valley Vineyards

It’s always a great privilege to be invited to a client’s home to photograph them in their own environment. My friend Jolie recently asked me to capture some images of her family at her parent’s Eden Valley vineyard, in celebration of a milestone birthday.

I can’t help but smile when I think about Jolie, her husband Dave and their children (two sets of twins!). When our two families get together, we have a total of eight children between us, so it’s never dull or quiet!

I love how these images celebrate their life, work and connection.
